MONROE — Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is taking proactive steps to protect the health of the community against coronavirus (COVID-19).

Because outdoor spaces are critical to the mental and physical health of the community, now more than ever, they are doing their best to maintain current level of services. Park visitors may want to bring hand sanitizer with them as a precaution.

At this time, playground equipment, tables or other surfaces are not able to be sanitized.

While at the park, it is important to maintain social distancing which means limiting the contact of groups within six feet from each other for 10 minutes or longer. Older adults, pregnant individuals, people with weakened immune systems and people with underlying health conditions that are at increased risk of Coronavirus are encouraged to take extra precautions.
