covid vaccine health doctor

MONROE — Green County community members will need to call to schedule an appointment to get their COVID-19 vaccine at Green County Public Health beginning in March and moving forward. Appointments will be available Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Community members can call (608) 328-9390 to schedule an appointment.

GCPH will be offering the pediatric Pfizer (5-11), adult Pfizer (12+), Moderna (18+), and Johnson & Johnson (18+) COVID-19 vaccines. Individuals can receive their primary series or their booster dose.

Currently, the CDC recommends that everyone 12 years of age and older receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose. People who originally received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines can get their booster dose 5 months after their second dose, and individuals who are immunocompromised can receive their booster dose 3 months after they completed their primary series. Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can receive their booster dose 2 months after their initial dose.

COVID-19 vaccines remain effective at preventing serious illness hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19, however, studies show that protection can decrease over time due to changes in variants which is why individuals should get their booster dose.
