MONROE – Governor Tony Evers issued Emergency Order #11 March 22 that temporarily suspends certain provisions in Wisconsin relating to service rules for electric, natural gas and water public utilities.

Quarterly water public utility bills will be mailed to residents this week and will be dated due April 20.

Following these orders, the City of Monroe will: Waive late fees for public utilities; temporarily suspend disconnections, other than those needed for safety reasons; and ensure that deferred payment agreements are available not only to residential customers but also commercial, and industrial customers.

The City of Monroe encourages residents to pay their water bills online during the coronavirus pandemic. Those who are unable to pay online should mail their payment to the City Treasurer’s office or take advantage of the city’s payment drop box. There is a drop box next to the north door of the City Hall building and a drive-up drop box by the post office mailboxes. The city payment box is white and marked for city payments, no postage is required on envelopes deposited into this drop box.
