As of May 25, 54 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Green County. Of these, 46 have recovered and none are hospitalized. So far, the county reported that 1,136 residents have tested negative for the disease.
In recent days, Green County reported its first confirmed infection of a child age 9 or younger. Most Green County residents who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 continue to be in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Only one in six confirmed cases are age 60 or older.
Lafayette County reported seven new cases over the Memorial Day weekend, bringing the total to 25. Of these, 15 are recovered. So far, 461 negative tests have been reported in the county.
No deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported in either county. Statewide, over 500 have died and over 15,000 have tested positive. Nationwide, close to 100,000 have died.
