Pictured is the Borden Condensed Milk Plant that once operated in Monroe. The following information is taken from the publication “Cheese Central, USA,” authored by Doran Zwygart: “1901: Borden reopens and builds a sewer line through the Ludlow pasture to Honey Creek. Soon there are objections by farmers, requiring a chemical disposal plant. In 1927 Borden closed the Monroe plant.”
