Photo inscription reads reception held for Rev A. Muehlmeier and family by German Reformed Church Monticello 1909. On January 4,1887 the German Evangelical Reformed Zwingli Church was established in Monticello. In 1898, a call was extended to Reverend Albert Muehlmeier. He served from 1898-1901 and then again from 1909-1938. Per the late Charles Rolph, grandson of Reverend Muehlmeier, “My cousin and I were spending a weekend at the parsonage. One night grandfather Muehlmeier came to see us as we were saying our prayers. He said, ‘I have told you many times don’t eat honey in my car. One of my church members got in my car and got stuck to the car seat. I will pray for all of you to get better, much better.
