Amanda Denicola, Monroe, talks about her best friend Yoda, a 3-year-old Chihuahua-pug mix.

Denicola picked Yoda out from litter of puppies. She said she always like pugs and was drawn to his big bug eyes. Denicola said before Yoda she was mostly just a cat person and now she misses him whenever they’re apart.

Describe Yoda’s personality.

He’s very friendly and can be outgoing, but can also be kind of shy. He grows to people really well and he loves kids.

What do you and Yoda like to do together?

We like to go for walks on the trail and anything outdoors. He loves to cuddle. Sometimes I’ll take him to Cadiz Springs State Park or the dog park here in town. We mostly stay indoors if it’s too cold.

What has it been like having Yoda in your life?

He’s my buddy. I’d be really lost without him. He definitely helps with my depression and anxiety. He’s pretty much an emotional support dog for me.
