Polly Whalen stands on the southeast corner of the square on Saturday, March 4. Whalen, born Crotty in South Wayne, will be the Queen of Green at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year, the parade, organized by Main Street Monroe, Inc. will be celebrating Teaghlach (Chi-Lek) (family in Irish) in the spirit of Irish roots. The parade starts at 5:17 p.m. on Friday, March 17. Not pictured is Grand Marshall Tom Ganshert.
