Trisha Priewe and Dan Frankland were married Saturday, Sept. 24 in a small afternoon ceremony held in Madison's Olin Park. Rev. Dr. Ann Groves Lloyd performed the ceremony.
The bride's mother read a poem and the couple's sisters, Wendy Flanagan and Jill Vacek, read Edward Monkton's picture book "A Lovely Love Story," which was also used as the guest book. The rings were housed in a small handmade book safe and delivered during the ceremony by the groom's 4-year-old nephew, Franco Vacek. The couple wrote their own vows. The bride's mother and the groom's father signed the wedding certificate as witnesses, and the bride's niece, Leah Flanagan, acted as official "minion."
The bride wore a black taffeta and jersey cocktail dress, and the groom's yellow shirt and tie were accented by bright red Ferrari shoes. After the ceremony, the wedding guests boarded a Betty Lou Cruise boat for a cocktail and dinner reception sailing Lake Monona. In lieu of a wedding cake, the bride's mother made chocolate-covered red velvet cake bites, which were given to guests as a take-home favor.
The bride is originally from Monroe and is co-director of the Lodi Public Library; her parents are Mary and Randy Roderick and the late Paul Priewe. The groom is a life-long Lodi resident and an independent franchise dealer for Snap-on Tools; his parents are Jack Frankland and the late Joanne Frankland. The couple makes their home in Lodi.
A wedding reception is planned for summer 2012.
