WISCONSIN DELLS - Jenelle Ward, Monroe, was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Wisconsin Pageant, which will be Aug. 25 and 26 at the Chula Vista Resort.
Ward, 13, is the daughter of Jennifer (Brian) Metz and Bret Ward.
The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4 to 18, and have five different divisions. Ward will be participating in the Miss Junior Teen age division.
The winner of the pageant will receive $1,000, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California where she will have a free Tour of Hollywood and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.
Ward is an eighth-grade student at Monroe Middle School.
Her activities include dance at Studio M, softball and art classes. She was the American Legion Poppy Princess 2011. Ward is still looking for sponsors.
