Walkers, riders pledge $8K to help county Habitat

NEW GLARUS - More 130 area walkers and riders gathered pledges totaling nearly $8,000 for Green County Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) at the sixth annual Bike for Habitat, sponsored by Green County Habitat For Humanity in late May in New Glarus. The Bike 4 Habitat is held each year on the third Saturday in May and is the non-profit group's primary fundraiser of the year.Local business sponsors chipped in another $8,000. Top platinum-level sponsors for this year's ride were Walmart, Colony Brands, Inc., Peace Lutheran Church and Thrivent for Lutherans of Green County.Brenden Pittman, a sixth-year participant, acted as Grand Marshal for the event.
