MONROE - On Thursday, Aug. 27, the Monroe Morning Optimist Club hosted a couple of representatives of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus: Kim Schmelz, the Alumni Association president, and Dennis Cooley, executive director of the UWP Foundation.

They gave an informative presentation on the numbers and locations of Alumni Association members, rising student enrollments, the costs of attending college, and the benefits to students and faculty provided by the Foundation.

They provided us with examples of the strong contacts they have with the Monroe community and Green County. As there were a number of alumni in the club, a group picture was taken.
