MONROE — The Monroe Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin awarded grants to United Way of Green County responding to community needs brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a donation from Compeer Financial to various community-funding organizations, the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin was able to offer each of its Community Funds the opportunity to grant up to $1,750 each to help relief efforts. The Monroe Fund also contributed funds to the COVID-19 Fund through a distribution from the Ray and Betty Stamm Fund and the Unrestricted Monroe Fund. This one-time Compeer Financial COVID-Relief Grant allowed the Foundation’s Community Funds to support any nonprofit organization, city/government agency, or school actively addressing food and housing insecurity, transportation needs, childcare programs and other relief efforts during the pandemic.

The total amount of the donation from the three funds was $11,750. This will help the United Way of Green County respond to immediate needs in the area.

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin serves to match charitable donors with the needs of communities in the following counties: Rock, Walworth, Crawford, Iowa, Lafayette, Green, Grant and Vernon.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with assets in excess of $57 million.
