MONROE - The City of Monroe Water Utility are flushing water mains throughout the city through Oct. 31.
Some discoloration may occur in customers' water. The water is safe and is not harmful, according to the utility. The discoloration is caused by encrusted minerals being flushed from the walls of the mains.
The best way to deal with the discoloration is to turn on the cold water and let it run until the water is clear.
