MONROE - A seven-week course will be held beginning Monday, Oct. 8 at St. John's United Church of Christ that empowers participants to explore the concept that all Christians can serve in their own ways.

The "Unwrapping Our Gifts" course will empower participants to explore the concept that all Christians - not just ordained - are ministers, all of whom are equally called and gifted to serve in their own unique ways in daily life and work.

The course will be offered on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 8 and running through Monday, Nov. 12. It will also include one Saturday retreat.

Participants will engage in imaginative Bible studies, case studies, guided journaling exercises and group discussion as they grow in faith and strengthen their personal ways of ministering in their workplaces, relationships and world.

The course will be taught by a trained leadership team. The cost of the course is $20. The deadline to sign up is Monday, Oct. 1.
