MCCONNELL - McConnell United Methodist Church is hosting a Bike-Walk-A-Thon from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, to raise funds for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Lunch will be provided to participants at 11:30 a.m. People who would like to participate may get pledge sheets by calling Roger Bronkema at (815) 868-2421. Those wishing to make donations can send checks made out to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital to McConnell UMC, P.O. Box 97, McConnell, IL 61050, or you may drop them off at the church any time during the event on Saturday. Prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most money
