'Twas the night before Christmas' parade Nov. 26

MONROE - Twas the night before Christmas parade is set for 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26.

Individuals, Business and Organizations are welcome to participate with an entry. The parade will organize at the Monroe Middle School north side and Monroe school district parking lot before 6 p.m., then proceed around the Square returning to the Monroe school district parking lot.

Generators will be available from Precision Drive and Control, Inc., for any entry that needs electricity for lighting. Participants must contact them to make arrangement to reserve and to pick them up. There is a limited supply which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is an entry form that is to be filled out and returned to secure a spot in the parade. Also, the entry form will insure that you will be kept up to date on all happenings for the parade.

The public has expressed an interest in viewing the floats after the parade. Weather permitting; floats can return to the street between Suisse Haus and the Monroe Middle School for 20 minutes after parade. To avoid confusion, there will be only one Santa and Mrs. Claus in the parade and Monroe Main Street will secure them.

The Monroe Morning Optimist invites everyone, after the parade, to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Wisconsin Community Bank.
