JUDA - Mount Vernon Cemetery, Juda, will hold service on Memorial Day to honor all veterans who have died. Graves are decorated with flowers in memory of loved ones. Memorial services have been held there for more than 90 years.
Services this year will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25. The program will begin with the Juda Fire and Rescue Department raising the flag, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by the Juda Boy Scouts. The Juda Middle School Band and Choir will provide musical selections during the service.
A tribute to World War I veteran, Wayne Vanderbilt, will be given by his daughters. After an address by the Rev. Thomas Miller, the roll of honor will be read and a wreath laid to honor all veterans. The program will close with the singing of "God Bless America."
In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Juda School.
