ROCK COUNTY - The University of Wisconsin-Extension again will be holding a tractor safety training and certification class this June. Youth between the ages of 12 and 16 are required by law (WSS 346.925) to complete certification if they are to operate farm equipment on public roads. In addition, Federal Department of Labor rules require youth between the ages of 14 and 16 who work for others be certified to operate any equipment, regardless of location.
Classes will be held during the day, beginning June 18, running through June 23. An orientation meeting will be held Monday evening, June 15. The cost of the program is $55 and covers the cost of all materials. To register, call the Rock County Extension Office at (608) 757-5696.
