MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. - Timber Lake Playhouse is looking for cast members for its production of Meredith Willson's "The Music Man."
Auditions will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the theater, 8215 Black Oak Road. Sign-in begins at 1:30 p.m., with auditions held in order of arrival.
TLP artistic director, Jim Beaudry, will direct and choreograph the show. Cindy Blanc is music director.
The theater is seeking 12 to 15 local adults, teens and up to five children who must sing, including the role of Winthrop, for the production. Several featured roles for girls also are available.
Anyone who plays a musical instrument can also audition. Mature performers are encouraged to audition.
Those auditioning must prepare 16-bars of a song in a traditional musical theater style and be prepared to tell a joke. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.
Dancing is not required but preferred for teen performers. The dance audition for teens and children will be at 3 p.m.
