WARREN - The Skinrood, Wicker and Spore families will gather at noon on Sunday, July 26, at the shelter house right behind the old church in Warren's park on the north side. Bring your favorite food to share and your own tableware. Coffee and lemonade will be furnished.
In 1857, four of the older Skinrood family sibings, Peder, Andreas, Bertha and Anne, left their farm home in Dokka, Norway to head to the new land of America. Peder married Anne P. Ensberg and her parents and sisters were along for the journey, arriving in Wiota in the early fall. They were welcomed by their aunt.
On Nov. 27, 1857, Peder and Anne had their first born daughter, Martha. Martha married Peter Wicker and they had two sets of twins, Selma Agnes and Silas Almer and Mervin Oscar and Marvin Luther.
Anyone related to the Skinrood, Wicker and Spore families, are welcome to attend on Sunday. For more information, contact Betty Williams at (608) 776-2948.
