DARLINGTON — The Pop Factory Players proudly presents ‘The Fantasticks’ this weekend opening on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Driver Opera House (250 Main Street) in Darlington.

This musical has had an incredibly successful history due to its charm and theatre magic for storytelling. The story centers around a troupe of players telling a simple but completely entertaining story that has universal appeal. Don’t miss the first play production in The Driver Opera House since 1949.

After opening night, The Fantasticks production continues Sept. 19 with the first matinee performance beginning at 2:30 p.m. The following weekend will continue the production of this charming and funny show on Sept. 24 (7:30 p.m.), Sept. 25 (7:30 p.m.), and Sept. 26 (2:30 p.m.).

CDC guidelines will be in place with masks optional, but encouraged. Plus, the auditorium space in the Driver Opera House has room for social distancing.

Parking for the Driver Opera House production will be made available in parking lots on the corners of Washington and Ann Street. The second-floor Driver Opera House is not handicapped accessible. There is no elevator, but the stairs have a very sturdy handrail.

Tickets for the show are $20.00 and can be purchased in the Driver Lobby beginning an hour before the shows.

We would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge that the Pop Factory Players are generously donating all proceeds from the performances of The Fantasticks to the Driver Opera House Restoration.
