The Dining Room hosts knitting exhibit

MONTICELLO - For a decade now, Ruth Sybers has gathered the great knitting designers of the world to present workshops on current trends and skills in knitting. The new exhibit at the Dining Room, at 209 Main, features knitted art created by the world's leading knitting experts. The works display their designs and their skill.

Sybers held her last workshop in November 2009 with Lucy Neatby.

"With the advances in technology, knitters around the world are able to access some of the information that my workshops provided over the last ten years," she said. "Although I still feel hands-on learning is important, it just seemed time to 'retire' the workshops."

Still, this collection of hand-created gems will remain until mid-January, allowing viewers to experience the textures, colors and patterns that some of the world's greatest knitters are developing right now.

The World of Knitting-A Decade of Learning exhibit will be available for viewing in a dining venue, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at The Dining Room at 209 Main. Books from the featured designers will also be available for sale. For more information about the display, visit The Dining Room at 209 Main's Web site at www.209main.com.
