ORANGEVILLE - The Mighty Richland Players' fall production, "Now, That's Entertainment!" is set to kick off with music, an audience sing-a-long, a comedic skit and dessert.
Show dates are: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Mighty Richland Players Dessert Theater, located at the Historic Masonic Hall, 203 W. High St.
"His Angels," a Christian musical trio with roots in the Lanark Church of the Brethren, will perform. The group includes Jane Hayen, Chadwick, Ill.; Sandy Sweitzer, Pearl City, Ill; and Deb Noordhoff, Lanark, Ill., along with their pianist, Anne Lindsay, Lanark, Ill. For over a decade, the group has presented special music at churches in four counties and has provided worship services. The group has entertained at local town festivities, club meetings and "Mother-Daughter" programs.
"Red Bird Country" has been playing old-time country songs for over a decade. They entertain at open mics, nursing homes, local club meetings, birthday parties and town activities. Sandy Sweitzer, from Pearl City, plays 12-string guitar and provides vocals; her cousin, Ken Sweitzer, from Lanark, plays a Banjolin (mandolin/banjo); and Denny Hancock, from Stockton, plays a homemade rhythm instrument called a Stump Fiddle.
A short skit, "No Manners Nursing Home," written by Sandy Janicke, will also be performed. It features Sandy Janicke, Bonnie Schieder and Dawn Degenhardt.
"Now, That's Entertainment!" is the replacement show for the previously scheduled, "Opal's Million Dollar Duck."
Ticket prices are $20 and include a piece of fruit pie and ice cream, hot cider and coffee. Group prices are available.
