Hello everyone, my name is Whitney Disch, your 2013-2014 Monroe Dairy Queen. I have had a very busy year. From going to the Wisconsin State Fair to handing out cheese at local events, I have been all over Green County and the entire state of Wisconsin promoting Green County's agriculture and community events. I have had the time of my life, and unfortunately, that time is coming to an end. On Saturday, I am passing down my crown at 1 p.m. during Farmin' on the Square in Monroe. I am very sad that I will no longer be your Monroe Dairy Queen, but I have two great candidates, Emma Peterson and Mia Wahl, who are more than excited to step up and wear the crown. Before I pass down my crown, I want to take this opportunity to formally thank everyone who has made this year easily one of the greatest years of my life.
First off, I would like to thank the Green County Ag Chest. Without them, I would not have had the chance to become a Dairy Queen. The Queen's Program not only allows the girls to promote their town and the dairy industry, but it helps them grow as young ladies. I have greatly improved on my speaking skills, and I have learned the importance of timeliness, etiquette and setting a positive example. I have gained so much through the Green County Ag Chest, and it is truly a great program to be involved with.
Next, I would like to thank the Queen Chair people Pam Burke, Karen Buck and Jolene Elmer. These ladies have done a fantastic job at setting up our Queen events and helping us be the best queens we can be. They have worked tremendously hard to make my year as a Queen run smoothly, and I don't know what I would have done without them.
I would also like to thank my friends, family, the other Dairy Queens and their parents. Thank you for putting up with me throughout my year, and thank you for always being there for me. From zipping up my dresses to giving me plenty of hugs when I was down, you all knew how to make every event a fun time. A special thanks goes out to my parents, who not only drove me around in all of my parades, but took me to all my events and never failed at taking plenty of pictures for my scrapbook. Thank you for all you did for me, not only this year, but throughout my whole life. I love you.
Lastly, I would like to thank my community. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else but Monroe, Wisconsin, and I am so proud that I was able to spend this year representing my home town. Thank you all for giving me events to go to, and thank you for supporting me along the way. I am so glad I got to meet so many new people, and because of you I got the opportunity of a lifetime. Please continue to support the Ag Chest and the Queen's Program, because they have changed my life for the better.
