Tax seminar will be Feb. 12

MONROE - The Monroe Public Library will offer a tax seminar, "Talking Taxes," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 in the library's second floor meeting room, 925 16th Ave.

Lonn Spangler from H&R Block will provide a general overview of the coming tax season, followed by a question-and-answer session. He will discuss:

• Industry changes and IRS regulations

• The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 and how it affects you now and in the future

• Health care reform and your taxes

• Basic filing requirements

• Your kids and your taxes

• Retirement and your taxes

• Record-keeping regulations

• Common errors in filing
