MONROE — The Swiss Attic Fanciers presented a banner that had hung in the original fire station to Mayor Donna Douglas at the city council meeting on May 2, which will be returned to the archive room in the present downtown fire station.
Because the Questers had funded the repair of the American flag that had flown over the original fire station and is now displayed in the City meeting room, they were asked by the fire department if they would take on another project of getting this banner repaired and conserved. Len Lassandro, Master Conservator, was contacted to do the work.
Since the organization was disbanding because of dwindling membership, they needed to spend the monies in their treasury on these specific kinds of projects and this fit perfectly. The Questers are proud of all the projects this organization has funded over the years and are also very pleased this included our fire department.
