MONROE - The summer program of Midday Masterworks, an organ mini-recital series now in its tenth year, will held at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St., Monroe; and at 5:30 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th St., Monroe.

"In Remembrance: A Tribute to Lawrence Kelliher" is the program's theme, which will be played by Deborah Krauss Smith, organist/director of music at St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe.

Kelliher, who died in June of 2009, was a well-known church musician in the Madison area as the organist and director of music at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison from 1960 to 1992.

Krauss Smith studied organ with Kelliher for many years, and the pieces of the program are from the last public recital that Kelliher played in 1998.

The half-hour program is free and open to the public. More information is available at www.ColdSpringsRoad.com/Middaymasterworks.html.
