Suicide prevention walk will be Oct. 18

REEPORT - An Out of the Darkness Community Walk for Suicide Prevention will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, starting from the Krape Park band shell, 1799 S. Park Blvd., Freeport. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The walk is a fundraiser for The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and also a memory walk for anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. A suicide survivor is a person who is left behind to suffer the loss of a mother, father, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, any family member or good friend who made the choice to end their life themselves.

There will be food before the walk, door prizes, concert and a balloon release in memory of the loved one lost. For those persons interested in getting up their own team for their loved can register on line at www.outofthedarkness.org or register at the time of the walk at the park.
