NEW GLARUS — Students from New Glarus High School showcased their knowledge and skills in the virtual HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Regional Competition, earning top honors and advancing to the Wisconsin HOSA State Leadership Conference in Wisconsin Dells this April.
This year’s regional event was conducted entirely online, with participants completing an individual test and participating in a Zoom-based component. Despite the challenges of a virtual setting, New Glarus students demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise in their respective categories.
Three outstanding individuals earned Gold-level recognition, securing their spots at the state competition:
● Abigail Biank — Extemporaneous Writing Health Policy
● Emma Mondloch and Camryn Arnett — Health Education (Team)
The individuals who competed at regionals were Landon Marty, Eve Maclean, Karci Wirth, Kaylie Clark, Emma Mondloch, Tatum O’Bel, Abigail Biank, Camryn Arnett, Ella Dittberner, Gracie Atkinson, Morgan Pulvermacher, and Danica Nelson.
Their success reflects the hard work and commitment of all students who participated, as well as the support of their advisors and mentors. The upcoming state competition in Wisconsin Dells will provide these students with an opportunity to further develop their leadership, teamwork, and healthcare-related skills while competing against top students from across the state.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to HOSA and their outstanding performance at Regionals,” said Advisor Rychia Bosman. “Their success is a testament to their passion for healthcare and their commitment to excellence. We look forward to seeing them compete at State!”
