Students earn Breadon medical scholarships

MONROE - On behalf of the Green County Medical Society, Dr. George Breadon, MD, FACS, treasurer, recently presented five $600 scholarships, from the Gavin Breadon Memorial Scholarship Fund, to Green County medical students. Those receiving scholarships are:

• Kevin Morgan, MD, is the son of Tom and Carol Morgan, Monroe. He is a 1999 Monroe High School graduate, earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004, is a 2008 MD graduate of Saint Louis University Medical School, and will start a residency in pediatrics in Ohio in July.

• Lisa Albright, MD, is the daughter of William and Ada Albright, Monroe. She is a 2000 Monroe High School graduate, earned a bachelor of science degree in bacteriology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004, is a 2008 MD graduate of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and will start a residency in anesthesiology in SUNY at Buffalo, New York, in July 2008.

• Lindsey Runaas is the daughter of Jim and Georgia Runaas, Albany. She is a 2002 Albany High School graduate, with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Ithaca College, New York in 2006. She has just completed her sophomore year at UW School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison.

• Ravi Patel is the son of Vasudev MD, and Bhavana Patel, Monroe. He is a 2003 Monroe High School graduate, and a 2007 graduate of Notre Dame University with a degree in biological sciences. He has just completed his freshman year at UW Madison School of Medicine and Public Health

• Jonathon Cappel is the son of Denis and Barbara Cappel, Monroe. He is a 2003 Monroe High School graduate, and a 2007 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in biomedical engineering. He has just completed his freshman year at Penn State Medical School in Hershey, Pa.
