FREEPORT - Freeport High School Theatre Department announces "Art to Art," northern Illinois' only high school showcase of student-directed shows.

Three seniors direct three short comedies, and students are completely in charge of sets, lights, costumes and acting. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, in Room 224 of Freeport High School. Tickets are $5 each. Reserve tickets by calling (817) 232-0461. All proceeds from this unique theatrical experience support FHS Theatre Scholarships.

Senior Kristina Kerchner directs "Blind Date" by Samara Siskind, featuring performances by Lauren Hartog and Cameron Rockwell. Love is blind... or is it? Marcia is looking for love; Ted taps in. Will it be a match made in heaven, or a case of the blind leading the blind?

Elise Brubaker directs "Sensitivity, U.S.A." by Emmett Loverde. Lars (played by Alex Smith) is journalist for his high school newspaper. He interviews Chrissy (Kylie Donaldson), a popular classmate, because he wants to expose her as the ditzy cheerleader he thinks she is. Throughout their meeting, their pre-conceived notions of each other are shattered.

Zachary Masa-Myers directs "Shark in the Bathtub" by Carla Hosein and Richard O'Bryant. Lauren Kimpel and Graham Gusloff are the performers. Hidden truths are revealed in this Seinfeld-esque romantic comedy. An artist and a psychiatrist trade barbs and sarcastic observations, but their argument soon develops into a sweet profession of their love for one another.
