MONROE — Abraham Lincoln Elementary School’s Student Council students traveled to Madison Oct. 15 to attend the Wisconsin Association of School Council’s annual leadership institute. Mr. Aaron Heim’s fourth and fifth grade student council members spent the day at the Wisconsin State Capitol hearing speeches and asking questions from Wisconsin State Representatives.

The students then transitioned to the Madison Children’s Museum to learn about topics such as parliamentary procedures, as well as expanding their teamwork and leadership capabilities to help those around them.

Abe Lincoln’s student council members will also be building a presentation regarding what they learned, and will be delivering this in person to Abe Lincoln’s PTO at their November meeting to thank them for funding the trip.
