SUN PRAIRIE - Black Hawk Senior, Tessa Cushman, a member of the Black Hawk Forensics team, received third-place honors at Sun Prairie High School's annual Forensics tournament. More than 25 schools and 550 students competed at the event with a total of 18 participants in serious solo acting. Cushman earned ranks of 2, 1, and 2 in preliminary rounds, which advanced her to the final round where she was ranked third out of five participants.

There are 17 members on Black Hawk's Forensics team, who started their Foresics season with the tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1. The next competition is the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association sub-district contest, which will be held on Monday, Feb. 10 at Benton High School.
