MILWAUKEE - Cynthia "Cindy" Widstrand Carter, daughter-in-law of Patt and Art Carter, Monroe, received the Herb Kohl Foundation award for "Educational Foundation Fellows."
Fellowship recipients are chosen for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students, their ability to motivate others and for their leadership and service within and outside the classroom.
Widstrand Carter is a chemistry teacher at Stoughton High School. She will be recognized along with other local winners at the Saturday, April 5 award ceremony at Parker High School in Janesville.
Cindy and her husband, Derek, live in Milton.
