Stockton: Independence Day festival is July 4

STOCKTON - The Stockton Lions Club and Stockton Chamber of Commerce are hosting an Independence Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, July 4, at the Stockton Memorial Park, on U.S. 20.

A Classic Chevy car show is planned for 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Arts and crafts booths will open at 9 a.m. The Pearl City Lions Club Mobile Bingo will offer bingo.

The Stockton Lion's barbecue chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. The meal, $6 for a quarter chicken, or $8 for a half chicken, includes cole slaw, beans, rolls, butter and refreshments.

A Making a Difference drawing will be held at 8:15 p.m. The VFW will have presentation of color and music by Tower Sound.

Fireworks will begin at dusk. Rain date for fireworks only is July 5.
