MONROE — The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department has openings in the following one day programs coming up next week:

 Super Heroes: There will be super heroes everywhere while doing crafts and playing games. Those attending should wear their own costume. This program will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Aug. 8 at Northeast Park and is for children age 3 to 10. Eight spots are still open.

Water Rocket Launcher: Children will learn how to build water rockets and launch them into the air. Other flying objects will also be made for launching. The launch party will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Aug. 9 at Northeast Park for children ages 5 to 12.
