MONROE - The 2008 Monroe Stamp and Postcard show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, in the second floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.

The show features stamp, postal history and postcard exhibits created by club members. The post office provides stamps and other philatelic items for sale.

The show cover, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," will be available for sale. There will also be a silent auction. About eight people will have stamps and postcards for sale. Best of all the show is free.

People who attend typically bring items they want to show others, items they want to understand more fully or items they no longer collect but others may want.

The Monroe Stamp and Postcard Club, in existence since November of 2001, meets at 7 p.m. every second Thursday at the Monroe Public Library.

Come and visit the show October 4. For more information, contact Earl Button at (608) 328-2827 or e-mail: ebutton@tds.net.
