Stagecoach Roadshow Appraisal event is July 20

LENA - The Lena Historical Society is sponsoring its first Stagecoach Roadshow Appraisal event at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20 in the museum's barn, 427 Grove St.

Local antique expert and auctioneer Tyler Lobdell will give appraisals of antiques and collectibles. Lobdell has owned and operated his own auction business for many years. The cost us $10 per item or $25 for three items. Appraisals given are not meant to be used for insurance appraisals. To register, pick up a form at Engel's Jewelry and Gifts, 136 Main St., Lena, or call 815-369-4135 or 815-233-2545 to have an application mailed out.

An ice cream social will also be held during the time the appraisals are being done. Homemade pies and desserts will be served with ice cream and beverage for $5.

The event is open to observers. A prize will be given for the person who can correctly guess the highest appraised item and its appraisal value. The museum building will be open for touring from 1 to 4 p.m.

Proceeds for the event will be used to maintain the museum buildings and grounds.
