MONROE - St. John's United Church of Christ will recognize families that can trace roots back to one of the founding members of the church or that have a long-standing membership with the church during the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 14.
The recognition of families will be part of the church's on-going 150th anniversary celebration.
Founding members last names include: Tschudy, Kaderli, Spahr, Schneider, Lanz, Weber, Walter, Baltzly, Schindler, Burgi, Schueler and Deininger.
Families who can trace their roots back to one of the founding members of St. John's or have three, four or five generations of membership can be recognized.
Those interested in having their family recognized can call (608) 325-2165 by Monday, Oct. 1. No genealogical proof or dates are required for recognition.
