St. John's to hold outdoor service

MONROE - St. John's United Church of Christ will hold an outdoor worship service at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at the bandshell in Twining Park. The service is open to the public.

Rev. Todd Hackman and Rev. Tiff Bates, pastors at St. John's, will lead the service. Special music is planned for the event.

There will be no 8 a.m. nor 9 a.m. service at St. John's and no 10:30 a.m. service at St. Clare Friedensheim on Aug. 16. Bus transportation will be available from St. Clare Friendensheim to and from the park. Those wanting to take the bus should be in the lobby of St. Clare Friedensheim at 8:30 a.m.

A fellowship time will follow the service. Bench seating and some chairs will be available. Those attending may also bring a lawn chair or blanket.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at St. John's Church, 1724 14th St.
