MONROE — The congregation of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe will welcome the newly-appointed Bishop Donald Hying at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 to preside over Mass at St. Victor Church. Hying will performing a dedication for the recently completed 12,000 square foot Holy Ground expansion. A short reception is to follow in the new gathering space.
In August 2018, St. Clare of Assisi broke ground on their Holy Ground Project. The main goal of this addition to their 1890s church was to provide access for all to the worship space. The facility boasts a covered drop-off area, off-street parking lots, three accessible restrooms, an elevator to the lower level and main floor parish offices.
The dedication of this project was the culmination of three years of work by the master planning committee to update the St. Clare campus to be a space for all to enjoy.
