MONROE - St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2810 6th St., will be holding various activities during Holy Week.
Holy Week begins at St. Andrew's at 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday, April 13. The church will hold a worship service with palms and read the passion narrative, a dramatic reading with parts.
At 6 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 17, the church will have a short agape, or love feast, which will include worship, sharing a simple meal such as Jesus may have eaten and foot washing. The evening will end with the stripping of the altar and leaving in silence.
A Good Friday service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18 and will include prayers called the Solemn Collects, as well as the Stations of the Cross.
The church will hold an event to color Easter eggs and make Peep dioramas at 10:30 a.m. Holy Saturday, April 19.
The Easter Day of Resurrection celebration will kick of with a breakfast buffet from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, April 20. At 9:30 a.m., there will be an Easter egg hunt for children of all ages, followed by the Easter worship service at 10:30 am.
