The eight-grade English and language arts classes tried out Speed Dating Books with Mrs. Angela Schmelzer, district LMC director at Monroe Middle School. 

Speed Dating Books helps students preview several books in a short span of time that they may not have selected on their own. On this “date,” each table held a different genre. Once they quickly decide on a book, they have four minutes of quiet previewing with that title, then decide whether it’s not for them or to write it on their “Someday List” before they rotate to a new table.
