Special gift presented to NG Library Capital Campaign

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Community Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, recently presented a donation to the New Glarus Library Capital Campaign.

The $5,000 gift is to be used for Catelyn's Corner, a children's area in the future library, which will feature a seating area for a child and adult to read a book together. Catelyn's mother, Tracy Owen, was a member of the NGCF when Catelyn died. The group always loved when Owen would bring Catelyn (and a book) along when she attended the meeting. NGCF was saddened when Catelyn passed away and wanted to do something in her memory and therefore established Catelyn's Corner Fund.

The New Glarus Community Foundation, represented by Tammy Newberry, was honored to have Catelyn's parents, Tracy Owen and Nic Owen along with grandparents to present the check to the New Glarus Library at a recent library board meeting, according to a news release. The New Glarus Public Library staff, the Board of Trustees and Capital Campaign are grateful for this special gift to the community.
