MONROE - The Monroe High School Choir, under the direction of Judy Bennett, has several special performances planned for March.
On Sunday, March 6, the MHS Acappella Choir will open for the Wisconsin Singers.
Former MHS student Alex Kennison will be performing with the group. That performance will be held in the MHS Performing Art Center at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens.
The MHS Choirs will presenting "Music of the Decades" featuring classic hits from the jazz era, 1980s and recent hits on Tuesday, March 15. The concert will be held in the MHS PAC at 7:30 p.m. The tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
On Friday, March 18, the entire MHS Choir program will be singing with the Augsburg College Concert Band under the direction of Robert Stacke. MHS has been selected to be one of the schools on their tour. The school is located in Minneapolis, Minn.
Former MHS student Alex Bennett is a member of the concert band and will be directing the combined selection. A free-will donation will be taken at the door.
Proceeds will go to the MHS Choir and the Augsburg College Band.
