Southwest Health family medicine care comes to the Darlington clinic
Michelle Hauser
Kylie Leahy

DARLINGTON — Southwest Health is expanding to include Family Medicine care at the Darlington clinic starting in August. This update means Southwest Health patients who live in Darlington or the surrounding area will no longer need to travel to Platteville to receive primary care. The following providers will continue to see family medicine patients at the Platteville Clinic and now the Darlington Clinic.

Michelle Hauser, PA-C will be at the Darlington Clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays seeing current patients and accepting new patients. Hauser has been a family practice Physician Assistant for decades providing primary and complementary care to patients of all ages. She has a deep commitment to accessible rural healthcare.

Kylie Leahy, APNP will be at the Darlington Clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays accepting new patients of all ages. Leahy has years of experience working in the family medicine clinic at Southwest Health. As a Registered Nurse before becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber, Leahy understands how patient care and medicine work together to care for her patients.

Ann Lucas, MD will be at the Darlington Clinic on Thursdays seeing current patients and accepting new pregnant patients. Dr. Lucas brings a wealth of experience in providing primary care for the whole family through her longstanding practice at Southwest Health. She is board-certified in family medicine and pregnancy and sees patients from pregnancy through newborn to geriatric age.

“Family medicine providers are the go-to resource for all things health. That’s why it’s crucial to have a provider that patients can turn to and feel familiarity and comfort when dealing with uncomfortable topics,” Southwest Health wrote in a press release July 17, announcing the changes. “Family medicine providers serve as the primary point of contact for patients, meeting the needs of each individual patient. Using their expertise in preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment, family medicine providers also serve as a coordinator of care with any of Southwest Health’s specialists.”

Southwest Health’s Darlington Clinic is located off Tama Run Road at 133 Performance Drive in Darlington. Patients can make an appointment to see an existing provider or establish care at the Darlington Clinic by calling (608) 776-4413.
