South Wayne drive exceeds quota

SOUTH WAYNE - The Red Cross Blood Drive at Marty's Village Inn exceeded quota by 10 units. Forty-seven potential donors presented with three deferred. Three doubles were attempted with one only yielding a single. The quota was 37 with 47 units collected.

There were no first-time donors. Mary McKnight met her 8-gallon mark. Giving doubles were Dick Leuzinger, Joan Jenson and Reanna Parker.

Other donors were: Janice Brewer, Julia Spinhirne, Stelda Kosek, Don Seffrood, Debra Wolff, Stu Lenzen, Grant Dale, Cheryl Dale, Tom Wellnitz, Ken Anderson, Konnye Hull, Robert Hall, Richard Fernstaedt, Alicia Sigafus, Gene Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Connie Meier, Roberta Bell, William Bell, Ed Ernst, Pamela Larson, Helen LaDow, Ancil Norland, Larry Burkhalter, Sue Gerloff, Andrew Ermey, Frank Pivonka, Cassidy Pivonka, Janice Payne, Monica Kock, Herb Tornow, Steve Goebli, Candace Gross, Kenneth Heiman, Jackie Boss, Lonnie Stauffer, Jillene Meier, Donna Wyss, Larry Moen, Barbara Alexander and Sarah Vosberg.

Donating to the canteen were Valley View, cheese; South Wayne Mart, milk; Joyce Paulson and Susie Junk, sandwiches; Carole Broge, sandwiches and apple dumplings with cool whip; and Connie Meier, sausage, sandwiches, cookies, crackers and coffee.

Helpers for the drive were Paulson, Junk, Broge, and Meier. The next visit by the Red Cross to South Wayne will be March 21.
