MONROE - The Green County Master Gardeners will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m. at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St., Monroe.
The presenter will be Tonya Gratz on the topic of "Soil Health and Cover Crops". Gratz's presentation will include tips for keeping soil in the best shape for growing and recommendations for cover crops.
Gratz was raised on a dairy farm in Grant County. She attended UW-Whitewater and graduated with a degree in geography.
Gratz is a conservation technician at the Green County Land and Water Conservation Department.
The Green County Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association was formed in Green County in 2004 to provide master gardeners with opportunities for professional development and community service.
This year members of the association volunteered 265 hours of community education and 1,856 hours in community service projects in Green County.
The Green County Master Gardeners Association meets on the fourth Thursday of the month from February through October. Anyone interested in horticulture and gardening is welcome to join the association. You do not have to be a master gardener to be a member.
