LENA - Skate Station, Lena, will host a "Support the Troops" skate from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2.
Enlisted and veteran service members with ID will receive free admission for themselves and three skating guests. Skate rental is extra.
In lieu of the normal $3 admission, non-military citizens may substitute a troop care package. Skate rental is also extra.
Items needed for troop care packages include foot powder, crew socks, international phone cards, hygiene products, unscented baby wipes, non-perishable food such as snacks and complete microwave meals.
Skate Station is located six miles west of Freeport, on Illinois 20.
